Meatballs and Gnocchi Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 pound gnocchi
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet or plate.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the meatballs and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them cook in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, usually until they float to the surface. Drain and set aside.
  • Once the meatballs are cooked through, serve them over the gnocchi, spooning extra sauce on top. Garnish with additional Parmesan and parsley if desired.
  • For best results, make sure to use high-quality ingredients, particularly for the meat and sauce. You can also experiment with different herbs and spices to personalize the flavor of your meatballs.
  • If you want to save time, you can use store-bought gnocchi and sauce, but nothing beats the taste of homemade! Enjoy your delicious meatballs and gnocchi!
