Hamburger and Minute Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup Minute Rice
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese sour cream, chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes (if using), beef broth or water, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Once boiling, stir in the Minute Rice. Cover the skillet with a lid and remove it from heat. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the rice to absorb the liquid.
  • After 5 minutes, fluff the rice with a fork and mix it well with the beef mixture. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve hot.
  • Extra Tips
  • For an added burst of flavor, consider incorporating some sautéed bell peppers, corn, or peas into the mix.
  • You can also experiment with different spices like chili powder or Italian seasoning to elevate the dish further. If you're looking for a creamier texture, a splash of cream or a dollop of sour cream on top can make a delightful difference. Enjoy your meal!
