Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions
  • Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix the coconut aminos, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of sea salt. Reserve half of the marinade for the vegetables.
  • Marinate the Beef: Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips and marinate it in half of the prepared marinade for at least 15 minutes, or longer if time allows.
  • Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, chop the broccoli into florets and slices, and clean and slice the mushrooms.
  • Cook the Vegetables (Stir-Fry Method): Heat a tablespoon of avocado or olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Add a splash of water, cover to steam for an additional minute, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Cook the Mushrooms: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed, and stir-fry the mushrooms for 2-4 minutes until tender. Set them aside with the broccoli.
  • Cook the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated beef in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through, then return the vegetables to the pan.
  • Combine and Serve: Add the reserved marinade to the skillet, tossing everything together to coat well. Cook for an additional minute to heat through. Garnish with chopped chives and cilantro before serving.
  • Extra Tips
  • When cooking this dish, make sure you keep your cooking surfaces and ingredients organized for efficiency.
  • Using a high heat is essential for a good stir-fry, as it helps achieve that beautiful sear on the beef and retains the crispness of the vegetables.
  • If opting for the sheet pan method, spread the ingredients evenly to promote browning, and consider broiling for the last couple of minutes for added texture.
  • Adjust ingredient quantities based on your preferences, and don't hesitate to experiment with different vegetables or sauces to make this dish your own!
